My boyfriend J got me Mario Kart for the Wii as a gift yesterday! How awesome! Too bad he also got himself Grand Theft Auto IV. We are now fighting over the television. He said he knew this would happen. It is so annoying. I spent most of the night doing time trials with every single character/vehicle combination and will be able to find out which combo is the fastest. I am about halfway done, and the investigation has so far taken 2 hours. I just need 2 more hours, dammit get off the XBOX!

Just chugging along….

~Work still sucks but that is expected, long days - and even when it isn’t a long day, it can tend to feel like one. Luckily, I do feel like I am contributing to the company and they seem to appreciate me there.

~I told my new friends/trainers at the gym about my little 1.5 lb setback they said that it was totally normal and not to worry. That is what I expected but it felt better to hear it out of their mouths than my head.

~They still make $2 bills…I completely forgot about those suckers.

~There is no good tasting light beer, I do not care what anyone tells you.

~Fat free refried beans are delicious with pico de gallo and fill you up a lot.

~I broke my earring earlier.

So I went to the gym today to do my circuit training and after my 2 day rest I could definitely tell I am a bit stronger from the machines last week. It is weird when you have no strength at all, and I mean at all. I look like a big dork on the machines and not only that I am on the lightest setting (also known as 1 lb) However I can tell it is less hard than it was last week and right now I am thinking I will keep going with the 1 pounders until it is actually “easy” for me then I will graduate to 2 lbs. I do not see this happening anytime soon - maybe in a month? I will be pretty happy if I can add 1 lb a month that is for sure. I didn’t tell you that I actually GAINED 1.5 lbs this week and let me tell you I was not happy. However I had heard that muscle weighs more than fat, and you can lose some fat, gain some muscle and you haven’t lost anything weight wise, have you? I thought this was downright impossible for someone of my weight to simply not lose anything but I am hopeful that the worst that can happen is I drop quite a bit suddenly after a few weeks of this. I am not giving up or anything, but it was not very motivational! Blah what can you do?

As for me I really need to get into cooking more because I am spending too much money on food that is low in points but tastes good. For instance california rolls are low in points and sushi is one of my favorite foods. So last week I basically bought a pack of california rolls after my workout and I loved it but, hello, that was 6-10 dollars on food a day. So I am experimenting and making up some tacos to place in whole wheat pita shells.

Ow, my muscles! Must rest.

Weekend of fun & excitement

Friday: Went to Bay Meadows. I put $5 on a horse to win 2nd place, and it did! His name was VOTE. Turned $5 into $16. Lost lost lost. In the 8th race I put $5 on Horse #1 to win (I forget his name). He won too! Turned that $5 into $14. Since I put in $25 altogether, I ended up making $5. I have yet to collect it though, as we left before the 8th race. (Found out I won online, later). I will get the money next time. After Bay Meadows went to a funky place called Shoreview Club. It was sleazy. A nice fat drunk man bought us drinks and showed us his paint job on his harley. After that we proceeded to a dive in Redwood City called Sodinis, in which I sang Salt-n-Pepa’s song Shoop. After I was done rapping, everyone told me I was great. Something tells me that it wasn’t that good, as anyone in the bar at that point was as blazed as I was. I do have a video but haven’t seen it yet. Why did I insist on a video?! Because when you are drunk you do stupid things. I did get some requests after though, which I did find hilarious. “Can you do fergie?” Yeah I have hit the big time now. A’s friend is the karaoke person there and he invited us back to his place to party some more. I went, and got home at 3:30 AM. I drank like 3 too many that night. Needless to say…….

Saturday: Felt like shit. Had to train B at work at 10 AM, so that is what I did. He was very nice about it and told me I wasn’t acting hungover. That was nice of him. I think it went well, and he will be a good little worker bee. After that, I went home and had a 2 hour long conversation with my BFF V. Then I went and met A for chinese food and she went out to some bar thing. I was so not ever gonna drink again at that point, so I stayed home.

Sunday: J & I went to Jeffrey’s hamburgers for lunch. I haven’t had a burger in the longest time, and let me say it was grand! Oh and I had some onion rings too! Droooooooooool. Afterwards, I went to A’s grandma’s 75th birthday party! It was pretty fun, and I knew some people because I know some of her family already. It was a good time all around. I stopped at Smart & Final on the way home and grabbed some groceries, and Maysie got some treats from the Pet Club. Back to working out tomorrow. I did good last week, I didn’t go over once, and I worked out 5 days a week. Well week 2 starts tomorrow! Goooo me.

Kraft Bagel-fuls

New Kraft Bagelfuls are the newest way a dieter can enjoy bagels with cream cheese! These bagels are a little bit like “bagel twinkies” - the cream cheese is on the inside and the bagel is on the outside! There are 5 varieties, Original, Chive, Strawberry, Cinnamon & Whole Grain. The Whole Grain is 3 points per bagelful while the others are 4 points. They are found in the freezer aisle in the breakfast section.

I think they taste great! I enjoy that they are portion controlled, because I like bagels so much I will stuff my face with them! These are smaller than I would like but that is also why I like them! For 3 points these are a new staple for me. Now for breakfast I switch between my Jimmy Dean D-Lights & these.

Rating 4/5

Price: $2.29 (estimate)

Points: 3-4 per bagelful

Summary: Very good, however I recommend them toasted. A little smaller than I would like, which makes them good for a 3 point snack or a 3 point breakfast, your choice of course. Sometimes I have them as a side dish to my salad.

So I went to my first circuit training today! The Fit Lite circuit is compromised of a mix of 24 weight and cardio exercise machines. You start by doing 7 minutes on a elliptical trainer then you start the circuit and do each machine for one minute. It sounds easy, and.. it is and isn’t! The exercises are easy of course but it hurts like HELL! I am already sore and I am scared to wake up tomorrow I hope that I can get out of bed!

Postal Punishment

We have this tiny teeny eeny weeny mailbox for our apartment. If we forget to check the mail for 2 days apparently they are punishing us by taking our mail to the fucking Post Office. I went to go check the mail last night and I open the box to find it empty with one of those official Post Office postcards that you get when you have a package waiting for you there. “Your mail is in the Post Office in the corner case. Mailbox Full” That is so inconvenient. They couldn’t leave it at the Leasing Office or something for a first time offense?

Yesterday I went to work as usual, and then drove Jay to the airport. It’s his sister/brother’s birthday. They live in LA and he flew down to visit. I did not go because work has been super stressful and I pretty much assumed I would be on my laptop the whole time I was here. Next time he goes however I will accompany him. This is the second time I have not gone to visit his family due to work. The last time was Christmas. I can tell it hurts his feelings as if I don’t want to spend time with them but it isn’t true. It is quite fun spending time over there.

So I dropped him off at the airport and began feeling lonely. When did I become so dependent on others for entertainment, I have no idea. I called up my BFF, V, and we talked for 4 hours. Trust me that is pretty normal for us. We could talk forever, literally. She’s a lot like me. Freaky! Anyway, before I knew it, it was 2 AM and that was about all I did yesterday.

I only lost 0.5 lbs this week so that kinda sucks, but since I start my workout regimen on Monday I am not too overly upset about it. This morning my friend A & I got our eyebrows done at Bombshell, which is the best eyebrow place on earth I tell you! Today is my Weight Watchers splurge day so we went to IHOP after that and got down with our bad selves. I had my favorite breakfast, Eggs Benedict, soooo yummy! It’s amazing how good fat tastes, why is that!!!!?

Tonight I am going to the Rogue Pub and will be having a few beers. This particular place has this hefeweisen called Half-A-Weisen that tastes kind of lemongrassy. It sounds weird and is amazingly refreshing and good. Cheers! ;)

Well today was pretty nice! I was taken out to lunch by my boss and we had a chat about the company and where things are going. There was free pizza and beer and don’t faint: I had a salad and a diet coke. Thank you very much that was quite hard to do. Then the surprise ending was that I could go home. It was 2:30! Awesome!

I called my friend B to see if he wanted to meet for a coffee at the Starbucks across the street from his job. I left a message and while waiting for a call back I wandered into the 24 Hour Fitness and signed up. Not exactly on a whim per se, I have been eyeing this particular gym for a while now. It is a Fit-Lite, in other words a gym that is circuit training only. Well I signed up for a monthly rate of $24 (much less than I anticipated it would be) and never heard back from B. That bastard! No worries, with my new found confidence in my diet and exercise abilities I got in the car and left.
