Hey Nissa,

Yes it is South Beach. Sorry to confuse you, I mentioned it in a previous post. Yes I agree it seems like an odd thing to do in the first place, but as for me I just wanted to see what the fuss was about. As for exercise I definitely plan on getting back into that, but I am trying Phase 1 and if I like it enough to stick to it, great, I thought "no sugar and alcohol" would be a nice detox for 2 weeks but I still don't know if I neccessarily need carbs to live, but I am curious about the feelings I am getting without them.

Tiffy, are you doing South Beach? I can't figure it out with your blog posts, but that's what it sounds like with the phases. I did it in 2006 and lost 8" from my waist, before my wedding...and gained it all back afterwords.

After I did it, i went vegetarian, because while on the diet, I learned that I needed bread and pasta to live. I was MISERABLE without it. I did learn about portion sizes, which was nice. And I lost the weight quick.

So I won't tell you NOT to do this, because it works, but I will tell you that as a survivor, it doesn't work work. If you're a carb fiend, the cravings don't go away like they say they will. I find that I crave less sugar (like they say) but the carbs never became repellent. It's still really, really restrictive. So when I had enough...i had ENOUGH and binged.

Just be careful! And think about the calorie/exercise thing...it works better...
