Hello Tiffy!

So we went to Chevy’s for dinner and we had some good food. He had a 4 entree combo (Don’t you hate those 6′6″ fuckers that can eat everything and not gain weight?) And I had the shrimp and crab quesadilla. Sooo good. We shared a pitcher of margaritas but I had a shot of patron, hoping it would not only make me buzzed, but clear my sinuses and burn out the bacteria. Well, it worked nicely, because the rest of the night I felt much better. I stayed home and worked yesterday so I could get some more rest but I actually took the advice of people I worked with and went out a bit. I am glad that I did now.

So now I have leftover shrimp and crab quesadillas which is never a bad thing. We bought 2 bottles of champy which of course I mostly drank. What was I to do, leave them for later, well I could have but I like to throw down. We have a bit left over I have heard of recipes that require “leftover” wine … can’t say I have had leftover wine before but now is a good time to use it

Unfortunately my health took a turn and I spent the day in bed hacking up a lung. However, Two friends advised me to go and do something tonight because New Years Eve is only once a year. I think they are right. I am going to have dinner with J and then we will share a bottle of champagne. Sounds like fun to me, as long as I can hold up! I am sure I will be healthy soon as I seem to get better every day. This year was not too bad!

Thankfully I am feeling a bit better today. I finally got myself a comfy computer chair. I have been using a wooden kitchen chair for over a year now and it really hurts my back and my butt! I went to go buy one about 6 months ago, decided to flop down the cash for it, and stupid Staples kept trying to deliver it when I wasn’t there. One day I even took the day off work to make sure I got it then they called and told me they missed me! I said, uh, I am home how could I miss you? They said they will re-deliver tomorrow. I was pissed, and got a refund for the stupid chair. That was my only attempt at getting one. So, with the $100 gift visa card J gave me for Xmas I packed up Maysie in her new purse and went to Office Depot. I found a good chair within a few minutes and now I am happy! I am so comfortable, I could sit here for hours now.

Tonight J and I are going to Benihana for dinner, to use a $50 gift certificate he received for Xmas for his family. Xmas never stops some years. I love it when that happens. I just wish to be healthy again soon.

SO I did nothing over the past few days except play on the xbox. God I love xbox. How did I go so long without one? Oh I will get to that in a minute, I have to tell you about the new digital camera I bought myself with my Xmas money! Isn’t it gorgeous??

It just shipped (weirdly enough) as I am writing this. I can’t wait!

I picked up the kids a few gifts for Xmas as well and they totally love them. I got Maysie a teeny booda bone with spearmint flavoring for her dog breath and also got her a pink hoodie! She loves it, it fits her perfect, and is she ever cute in it. In fact, I think that will be the first thing I take a picture of with my new camera! I also bought Rocko a scratch mat with catnip inside of it. He rolled around on that thing for hours!

Back to the xbox. I got myself a pink controller and a game that I love, Beautiful Katamari. I am and always have been a huge fan of Katamari games. I have two of the games for my PS2 but since it broke I worried I could never play again until I got a new PS2. I saw that there was a Katamari game for xbox and I ran out and got it. Since then it is basically all that i have done. Sat in the papasan and played Katamari. I also worked the last three days but I am off until Monday, then off again Tuesday. I gave J Halo 3 and Bioshock for his birthday today, and he really loved those. Sadly though, I will have to give up my xbox because he came back from his holiday trip. Waaaaaaaaaaaa! I am happy to announce that Xmas/Bday event is OVER and I am sick of spending money. Back to being a broke ass.

The next thing on my wish list is an iphone but I think I am going to wait because I just KNOW that the next gen iphones will come out in pink. So I think I will just enjoy what I have for now. I am so spoiled, I KNOW!

Feliz Navidad brings the craziest feelings to me. When I was a little kid, Feliz Navidad was my favorite song EVER. My mother was an Avon representative so we got lots of free stuff from them. They sold the Time Life Christmas Record and that was the only holiday songs album we owned. It was two records of great Christmas classics. My parents played the record non stop during the holidays, but Feliz Navidad was my favorite. I first realized I loved the song during a Sesame Street Christmas Special. Big Bird and the Sesame Street gang were ice skating along to Feliz Navidad. My dad realized we had the song in our collection, and he put it on for me. I remember I would have my dad set it on the song on the record, and he would return to the den where he spent most of his time. Every 3 minutes, when the song was over, I would call him to put it back, over and over. I would spend my time dancing around the living room by myself singing along with the song. I forgot all about it when I got older, but when I hear the song I get the heebie jeebies remembering the song so well and how I reacted to it. It is such a warm feeling. It taught me some spanish as well. So, I included the song here. Feliz Navidad!

I am sorry for abandoning you, Ms. Blog! I have had things going on but no time to write (or in other words, I didn’t take any time to write :D)

Friday, J got Rock Band and brought it home. This game is sweeeet!! I am the drummer that I have always wanted to be now. The backstory on my drumming dream is when I was in 5th grade, we had to pick our elective classes for the next year in Junior High. I chose band class, and for my instrument, I picked the drums. I waited all summer, excited to play my drums. I walk into class and there are two drum kits, and there are already boys sitting at them. They told me I had to pick a clarinet or something else because the boys already had the drums. I was livid! I switched electives a few days later. I have always been pissed that I was not given my drums! Rock Band is really realistic feeling and there are some great songs that you can unlock. I have pretty much played non stop for 2 days. I have improved a lot, but I am getting worried the sound the drumsticks make is going to get me a warning from my apartment neighbors. No one has complained yet though.

I spent a few hours yesterday at the mall, boy, was that ever fun. The traffic to the mall was incredible! I know it is to be expected the last weekend before Xmas but it was pretty crazy. I wanted to pick up a few more things for J because since I am a dumbass and gave him his birthday present before Xmas now I have to get him a birthday present. Hehehehe oh well. I grabbed him a few things and grabbed me some jeans which I have desperately needed. I got a few more Xmas gifts last night to my surprise as well. J gave me a Presto Pizzazz, which I always thought were so cool, I can not wait to use it. He also gave me a 100 dollar visa gift card… now that is awesome. He really got me a lot of stuff this year! Oh yes he also ordered us both some Tempurpedic pillows online which is sweet! We got a Tempurpedic bed in August so the pillows will be the finishing touch. I also got a check from my dad for 100 bucks, woot! I am going to take the 100 gift card and buy myself a comfortable computer chair, and the 100 from my dad will go towards a digital camera that I have been wanting for a while. The only camera that I have owned for years was whatever camera my cell phone had at the time. While technology has come a long way, the pictures are rarely how I want them and the shutter takes too long to get a good shot, Although I must admit I have kind of mastered the cell phone photography genre.

I had to get up at 4:50 AM this morning to drive J to the airport. That sucked, but I got there and back and passed back out for a while. He will be gone for 3 days I will be lonely but I have my kids here to keep me company so it’s gonna be alright. Ok I am starving for some lunch. I’m out!

So we did our Xmas. We couldn’t wait… well, he will be gone to his fam on Xmas and I will be working so we exchanged gifts tonight!! It was my fault, we were going to wait until Saturday night before he left but he made the mistake of telling me he got my prezzy in the mail today and I would not give up til I convinced him to do an early exchange. I mean why wait, it will not be Xmas in either event. I love my gift, I got this Juicy Couture Doggie Purse just like this one:

And we still are exchanging the small gifts before he leaves. His Birthday is the 26th and this was going to be his Bday present, but I know what I will give him on his Bday. It will have to stay a surprise. At least his big gift is done. He is still up playing The Simpsons game. (1 AM) He loved it, I am so so pleased

PS The bag is my 1st Juicy item. I am super pleased and feel Paris Hilton-like. I can not wait to take Maysie somewhere in it this weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Merry early Xmas to all!

So, the party was not a bust exactly, it was just so…. boring! I am not even sure I should talk about it on the blog, it’s not like I would get fired but I don’t want to get in trouble either…. Ok I will share. Well this was my 4th EA party. The 1st one was held at the St Francis in San Francisco and it was pretty bad ass. Part of the reason that I think it was so bad ass was it was touted as “formal” which, for a female like myself, is great. Not only do all the guys look like studs but you get to go pick out a “prom dress” all over again. It’s rare to have the chance to get all gussied up once you are over 18. So it was fun - they also had monte carlo style gambling which at the end of the night the top 3 people with the most chips would win cool valuable things like gaming systems. The 2nd and 3rd year were the same kind of party - except semi casual dress. Which was on one hand nice, but on the other hand less thrilling. Not to mention, they were held on campus, so it was nice to be closer to home but I think we all realized EA was trying to save lots of money by not renting out a place, which is a bad thing to think!

Well they still did monte carlo nights and still offered prizes and still had tons of food. Well this year they rented out the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium- which was quite a step up! I had high expectations. The place was decorated so nice, and the BGCA is generally a concert hall so they had a 70’s cover band and then an 80’s cover band. On stage with dancers, that was the shit! Good music there.

Then it came time to want drinks. It took 10-15 minutes waiting in line per drink. That in my opinion is unacceptable. My feet were killing me in those heels dammit! lol - The food was not bad, but they definitely had a more interesting and better spread in past years, probably because they saved so much on the venue before. They would have rooms where you would walk from room to room with a different country food. Crazy, extravagant and very cool. Well my final disappointment with this year’s party was the casino part. They have roulette, Texas hold em, and blackjack (this year, even fake slots machines!) - However this year you were just given free chips and it didn’t mean anything. Isn’t the only fun in gambling is you get something?! I heard rumors that they gave out trips and things to local indian casinos if you sat there long enough and/or won a big amount while at one time. I didn’t even try, which is *highly* unlike me. I was bored, I wasn’t drunk enough and my feet were killing me. So, whatever.

I am glad I went, I saw a lot of my old friends/co-workers which was my main excitement for going and there is one totally cool thing that was going on there - free face painting. HOLY SHIT! I saw the lady in the blue sparkly wig drawing a star around some girls eye, then I got in line. (There was no line, so I was next) I told her that I wanted a Hello Kitty on my face. She said she knew what she looked like kinda, but she asked for a hello kitty and I didn’t have any reference in my purse. But she drew a very cute dollar store Hello Kitty and I loved it. (Dollar store hello kitty is like one of those knock offs of Sanrio products that dollar stores sell, like Hello Kitty looking cartoon stationery with (for example) a different shaped bow so you just know its not real Sanrio but it is cheap and a 4 year old wouldn’t know the difference). In my case, the dollar store spot is that she has a mouth. WTF? Never, ever has Hello Kitty had a mouth! I loved it anyway. She has a pink sparkly bow, and everyone thought it was cute (as I did as well!) I also shook hands with the CEO (something I never got to do when I actually worked there - I was about to write his name but then he might google his name, find this blog, kill me, then hire my company to take it off of the internet). He was really nice! He commented on the Dollar Store Hello Kitty face paint and asked where I got it. (I guess he isn’t in touch with Event planning :P) That was pretty cool though!

Oh, on the way home from the party, I walked into the liquor store to grab cigarettes and all these people were staring at me. You would have thought I had a booger. I didn’t get it, then I got home and looked in the mirror and realized, oh, the Hello Kitty. haha. It was fun, and I guess I will tell you later about those things I promised to tell you about before.

Yay, tonight is the EA Xmas party. I am excited! I got some laundry done today, finally, and I am off to go get my eyebrows waxed, pick up some pantyhose (yes I still wear them thankyouverymuch) and pick up some nail polish. I am glad I get to see some old friends again. I hope they are doing  a Monte Carlo theme again (they have every year, so I don’t know what would stop them this year) and free drinks! Woo!

The party was really nice. Lots of food and a keg of good beer. I had about 3 cups. It felt funny pumping the keg because believe it or not it has been quite a while since I did that! All in all, it was a success. I received an O.G. SF hat and somehow it fit me perfectly. Thanks Paul.
