I said things were not going to get crazy last night but I lied!  I got faded, and today I am so hungover… my 2 weeks of no alcohol sound pretty good right about now…. lol! Too bad I have no food and I am too lazy to get any! I was lucky and got chinese buffet for lunch! Lots to eat there, string beans, egg soup and broccoli beef, it was heaven. I accidentally ate my fortune cookie out of habit, but I am pretending I ddnt…

Y’all

by Tiff on Dec.31, 2008, under Diet, Holidays

I catch myself saying “Y’all” several times per day now. It is always embarrassing, even though most of the time the people don’t catch it or notice it, it rings in my head for a few seconds after it comes pouring out of my mouth! I have an interesting little dialect now, I sound like a Texafornian… “Dude! Y’all should hella come tonight, it will be fun!”……..

I sound like a freak, it is kinda cute, but kinda creepy, someone at work told me I am gaining a “twang” too, but I think he was just fucking with me.

Tonight we are going across the street to the Riata Bar & Grill - our local diner/bar to ring in the New Year. A couple friends from work that live close by will be there too. I am working tomorrow so I am not gonna get crazy, but I will enjoy my last junk food/beer for a little while as I start on my South Beach Diet adventure tomorrow. I will let “y’all” know how it goes.

I hope everyone (or is that ANYONE) reading this has an awesome party tonight and if not, I hope you get the best sleep of 2008.

Take care, Y’ALL!

Made it home alive

by Tiff on Dec.30, 2008, under Holidays, Maysie

Yes I made it home alive, thank goodness! On the first flight to Dallas on Dec 24th it was definitely my most frightening ride, I was white-knuckling it the whole time and tears were streaming out however it was such a short ride it was not that bad. Only 38 minutes in the air. It seemed like by the time we go in the air we were praparing for a landing.

On the 2nd flight, form Dallas to Kentucky I was not feeling good either, but I met this awesome flight attendant chick who literally sat there with me and was talking to me the whole time and we pretty much went through our relationships, our other life events and before I knew it 2.5 hours went by. She was so awesome. She also kicked me down a free beer to help me calm down, now THAT is customer service!

As for the stay in Kentucky it wasn’t something I would exactly call “fun”, we pretty much stayed in the house and enjoyed some awesome home made meals. I spent a lot of time playing Pool and Ping-Pong on the table that J’s parents had at the house in the rec room. We almost got our own little apartment on the ground level of the house so it was very private and definitely relaxing. We took our little dog Maysie and she seemed to thoroughly enjoy her self, especially as we gave her a little bit of every meal. She even let her grandma hold her a few times and gave her a kiss that was kind of a shock, as Maysie hates everyone but her parents….

We found a cute little bar/diner about 1 minute away so we went there twice during our stay and played some darts and drank a little. We met some locals and they were all super nice. Nothing like a little “southern hospitality” when you are away from home to make you feel comfortable.

We left at 4 AM on Sunday morning to catch our first flight so luckily I was so tired the anxierty wasn’t as prevalent as I expected. We arrived home around 11 AM and I crashed out for a few hours! Ah, I love being home.

Almost Dead

by Tiff on Dec.21, 2008, under Diet, Holidays, Life

Ok… Just kidding… Sometimes joking about death is not funny but seriously I am sooo scared about this flight on Wednesday! I just need to stop thinking about it…. well that was easier before I heard about this story which a place slipped off of the runway into a ball of flames! Ok, luckily no one was killed but that is sooo not the point.

In other news, we had snow here in Austin last week, it was freakin amazing. I have pictures to upload but they look just like white dots… still lots of fun and I was in awe and shock! Completely beautiful! Oh, it was like, flakes that melted before it hit the ground, so it was not like a winter wonderland here.. but it IS Austin, TX we are talking about. I think it deserves mucho recognition.. actually, I believe it was featured on CNN a few times the day after.

I got my hair done red last weekend, it is so cute… it took a few days to start liking it because it was such a big change! I also got a cute side part with some of those side wispy bangs. I am trendy ya know. Actually, I did this mostly because I am totally going gray! I will save that bitch session for another day.

Oh, I must tell you my new computer is keeping me warm at night…. I received an early Christmas present from Jay and it was the World of Warcraft expansion… how did he know? So I have been grinding and wasting away any free time that I get but unfortunately I will not get much free time for a while after the holiday. I do not get PTO at my job so I am missing 3 days of work and that means no money…. I am going to be doing a lot of Overtime when I get back to make up for the lack of money… which means less playtime.. boo. However I have felt like a lazy lazy lazy person lately, that is what being a geek does to you….

I am thinking about starting the South Beach Diet after the new year, a co-worker is starting it and I am like well why don’t I give it a try. I think it sounds decent, but no alcohol or sugar of any kind for the first two weeks. Also no bread I think, it is pretty restrictive. Meat and vegetables are good most of the time but you know the best part is the potato! Which I can not have.

So anyway, Weight Watchers really DOES work but I found my biggest strength from the diet came from within my close friend Angela and basically when I moved away I stopped being on track. My hope is if I do South Beach with my friend Mary then the fact that we are both on it will inspire me in the same way. So, I will let you know. In the meantime, I will drink beer! :P

Sooo many things to tell you

by Tiff on Dec.07, 2008, under Games, Life

Sigh it has been far too long since I told you what was going on in Tiff Land.

Lets see… Oh, recently my upper left wisdom tooth decided it HATED me! Who can hate the tiffster? Well this tooth definitely does. It started on Tuesday, an extremely excruciating pain in the left side of my mouth. I just knew it was my wisdom tooth because I had been expecting it to turn on me for the longest time. I had felt that it was only half-grown in and I had been expecting any day now that it was going to hurt. I was in such pain it only took me 2 days to get to the dentist which says something right there. But anyway, i went to the dentist and they confirmed that the pain will not be going away until I get the thing pulled. So do you remember that discussion we had about a month and a half ago about my insurance and how it totally sucked? So it isn’t the worst dental coverage in the world or anything but it turns out that I am not eligible for oral surgery until I have been on the plan uninterupted for 3 months and of course I am only on 1.5 months at the moment. So I had the dental assistant price it all out for me and it will cost me $500 out of pocket before January 27th. On January 27th it will be my 3 month anniversary so to speak, and I will only have to pay $250. So I am now trying to decide how painful it really is. I discovered Anbesol and it has really helped. If I can stand rubbing numbing solution on my gums every hour for the next 6 weeks i can save $250. I am going to try it. Worst case, I just spend the money. It is certainly a disappointing time of year for my mouth to turn against me but what can ya do? That is life!

In other news, I just bought my dream gaming PC. The sad part of this is I decided to use credit through Alienware to get an ungodly expensive gaming PC because, at the time I had nothing else bothering me for money and I so wanted to treat myself to a new ridiculous treat I could not immediately afford. I flirted with the idea of buying it for months but I took the plunge on Monday and ordered the computer of my dreams, and of course on Tuesday was the day my tooth began to hate me. I have horrible guilt about splurging so much on the computer now and I was so damn close to cancelling the darn thing but you know what this will make me very happy and I just know it will prove to be a good investment. It is hard to treat myself sometimes but dammit I am going to WTF PWN every one with my uber Alienware… you better hope you don’t cross me in WoW or Warhammer online….bitches!

Addicted to Animal Crossing

by Tiff on Nov.28, 2008, under Games

http://news.filefront.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/animal-crossing.jpg
One of my favorite console games - Animal Crossing - was just released for the Wii and I have been addicted for days! I highly recommend the game Animal Crossing it is very cute, rated G and all around fun. However, I warn you that without the Wi-Fi hooked up it is not as fun. Half of the fun is having friends, and trading your items, and you catch fish and grow plants and as lame as it sounds, it is full of goals and is oh-so fun. Up to 4 players can live in the same town so it is a really good family/couples game. I am super addicted and luckily, an old co-worker of mine is playing so we are sending money and items back and forth it is tons of fun. The best!

Happy Thanksgiving

by Tiff on Nov.27, 2008, under Food, Holidays

http://www.tireball.com/photos/albums/cartoons-comics/cbthanksgiving.jpg
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I really hope it was awesome for you. We had 2 Thanksgivings this year. A close friend of ours invited us for dinner with her family and we spent the day there and we had a great time. J’s work provided the people that were working today with a Boston Market Thanksgiving Feast so technically J gets 3 Thanksgivings today! the bastard! Just kidding. He went to work for a few hours and nibbled a bit. Then he came home and we went to our friend M’s house. We had some great food and watched some football and chatted it up. After that, we came home, where I am heating up the turkey now. We won’t be eating dinner #2 (or #3) until about 10:30 tonight but we are both anxious. Our friend didn’t provide a few of our traditional favorites, and I had baked a green bean casserole which I MUST HAVE AT THANKSGIVING.. at some time during the day. So I baked that earlier, I considered bringing it to M’s house but I thought eh, I will eat it for our 2nd dinner and it is going to be soooooooo good too. We are also having cornbread stuffing, turkey and gravy and we got some pies (pumpkin and apple) from Marie Callendar’s restaurant. In a way I was kind of glad that M’s house didn’t have the few things we long for. It will make our 2nd dinner extra special.

Ahhh Thanksgiving, now to get stuffed! Damn work tomorrow!

Novato is awesome

by Tiff on Nov.24, 2008, under ROFL

I grew up in a little town called Novato and they have some really good Police Blotters… usually they are so hilarious because not many things go on there so the things they mention are normally pretty minor but these are my favorite that I have seen in a while. Now honestly I have to say this will make Novato sound really bad, and ghetto, and stupid… but they are all from the Novato Advance paper. I really can’t believe how good some of these are…..

Friday, November 14

8:35 a.m. A woman took beer and ran away from a store in the 1000 block of
Grant Ave. The store employee said that the woman is named “Jackie” and
she comes in often. The employee promised to call police next time she
came in.

12:34 p.m. The storeowner in the 1100 block of Grant
made good on his promise and called police after Jackie returned and
stole a beer. Police caught her and told her she is no longer welcome
at the store; the employee didn’t want to press charges.

2:13 p.m A San Marin High School student who appeared to be high on marijuana was admonished and released to his stepmother.

1:53 p.m. A 15-year-old boy was suspected of shoplifting from a business in
the 100 block of San Marin Drive and even his mother wanted him cited,
but police found there was no merit to the charge; the clerk didn’t
witness the shoplifting and she stopped the youth before he got to the
cash register.

3:32 p.m. A burglar got in through the doggie
door of a garage at a home in the 20 block of Terry Circle and stole a
32-inch Panasonic LCD TV valued at $1,800.

at Novato Community Hospital saying that “he was more sick now than
when he was first admitted.”

and disposing it in a public trashcan. Police didn’t find any
violations.

7:36 p.m. A resident complained that prostitutes are
taking their clients to a turnaround area in the 100 block of Marina
Valley Drive and then the resident has to pick up the used condoms
afterward.

disrespectful fashion.

5:47 p.m. A man called from a pay phone
in Miwok Park and reported that he had been raped an hour an earlier by
another man in some bushes behind a gas station in the 7400 block of
Redwood Boulevard. Several police responded, but during an interview
the caller admitted that the sex had been consensual.

9:21 p.m. A 14-year-old girl on Pebble Beach Drive called to report that her
father had attacked her. But the man told police he held the girl down

other people and was lying on her back on the ground while crying.
Police discovered that the woman, who had been drinking wine, was upset
because her boyfriend didn’t go on the limo trip with her. Everyone got
back inside the limo and drove off.
